Summer Thrifting/Goodwill Shopping for My Kiddos!

#LessonsWeLearnFromOurMoms ❤💚

Anyone who knows me knows that I love to dress my kids, have their hair done, face and lil' bodies shining with Vaseline😄, and backpacks filled with a juicebox, snack, and an activity (coloring book, tablet, etc.- and that's for even the most simple of trips like going to Wal-Mart😂)! #ItsJustHowIGrewUp

As such, I NEVER understand why kids aren't dressed nice/presentable (like, come out the house looking a mess or dirty😒- I get if they've been playing😳)! But quality clothes are so affordable!!! I'm not overly consumed by name brands either- if I want it for my kids, I buy it, but I'm not going to break the bank to do it. I always say, thriftstores/Goodwill's are my favorite boutiques! Good clothes, yet inexpensive (and of course I'm not talking about putting anything in your cart 😣)... you can even get name brands too!

I've been buying LB his summer  items here and there  (I catch all new items on sale too 😂)... Total cost approx. $50 (10 shirts, 4 pair of shorts, a couple pair of flip flops, summer loafers, and some must-have accessories #BabyFedorasAndSunglassesOfCourse💁... On the other hand, I hit a lick while thrifting #10FullOutfits #Under30Dollars #MixAndMatch #LBsSummerClothes (2T-3T) and some button ups for the fall (3T-4T) #CheckedOffMyList #ThriftStoreAndGoodwillHaul #WashDryIron #GoodAsIfItWasBoughtNew #ThriftyMom #GoodDealsGiveMeARush #AdrenalineJunkie lmbo #LetMeKnowIfYouNeedHelpWithYourKidsCloset 🎽👗👚👖👕 #CauseMineAreAlwaysStyledToTheMax

It's just what I enjoy focusing my energy on... Now my wardrobe is a whole different story 🙅😞lol! But my point is, I believe kids can AND SHOULD look presentable; during summer or the school year #IllShopThereForBack2SchoolShoppingToo! (2 shirts, 2 pair of jeans and an expensive pair of Jordan's to last an elementary kid all school year... Puh-lease!😖😬- better get to thrifting) Ok, I'm done!

(My son already had his tennis shoes, but partnering the old (what's already in the closet) with the newer "old" (finds from thrifting- they might be old to someone, but they are new to you 😙) is a great way to add to a seasonal wardrobe!

My Piece/Peace of the 🌍!

When I tell you, peace and quite in my own little piece/peace of this world is all I desire 💯👌🏾💖… I am so grateful to be in a safe place; physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially and so on…  Money can’t buy contentment or happiness!  My kids are loved and well taken care of, I’ve learned my self-worth throughout this journey of life and no one can ever take my worthiness away, my business is coming along successfully, my skin is glowing, my daily routine is productive, my time is what I set it to be, I am intentional, I am whole and complete, I am a Virtuous Woman, I am loved by my Father, God Almighty and He is proud of His daughter… this brings me happiness and contentment.  Just sitting on my bed, breathing as the sun shines in. Babbbbyyyy… these here sun rays always got my body synthesizing this Vitamin D and it legit puts me in a good mood👏🏾every👏🏾single👏🏾day ☀️💯. Just being able to have piece/peace and quiet… and watch the sunset from my balcony ...

One Year Later... After Fleeing Domestic Violence!

Click to listen to The Single Wife Life Podcast, Episode 6  I'd taken a job over an hour away from where I lived. Partly because I'd set my career goals on the organization as I admired the great work being done there and within the community overall, around diversity, equity and inclusion. The other part was simply because I wanted to move. I never really had plans of staying in the small-country town in Michigan that had become my home for almost 10 years. So when the opportunity of employment elsewhere presented itself, I jumped.  Problem is, when you're married, you can't jump in whatever direction you please, whenever you please. Well, I'd been meeting opposition for years and I was the only person who wanted to move forward and progress. Inwardly, I was on a journey to have a much better life than what my children and I had experienced. As such, I took the job in another town, was willing to commute two to three hours per day, and had the mindset that I'd...

THIS IS NOT EDUCATION!!!

#JustThinkingOutLoud with this one… This massacre is heart-wrenching, unthinkable, heart-stopping and all too-close to home… My daughter’s high school was on a full lockdown just yesterday for a gun on campus!!!  Last summer I had to pull my son out of summer school (he’s special needs and it was his first time back after two years of COVID and he absolutely needed the extra schooling)… but I couldn’t send him back after a fifth grader brought the firearm… and my sons teacher/class had to take in the class of the student who brought the gun because the fifth grade teacher had to do police briefings and reports for the rest of the day. Last Friday my daughter told me of a shooting that took place after a highschool graduation at a school where she trains and runs track.  Shooting at Highschool on May 19, 2022 . It’s worth nothing that, although we may not hear about school  shootings everyday, they’re occurring frequently. Think about it! Were you aware of the shootin...
