"I Need A ✏️ For My Homework!"

Let me tell y’all how this entire conversation went (with a 4-year-old boy):

Him: Mom, I need a ✏️ for my homework (i.e. his coloring book 🙄).

Me: I don’t have one, but here’s a 🖊.

Him: Oh, I have an idea 💡... (walks over to my make up pencils, grabs one and starts walking out the room... youknow, so he can complete his homework... in a timely manner).

Me: Wait, you can’t use that, that’s my makeup pencil!

Him: Oh 🤔 (In a very inquisitive tone)... This you makeup pencil? (He proceeds to walk to me and my face) Mommy, hold still!

Me: 💭 #InnerThought 1)Body slam him just because and start a wrestling match (nah, too tired to play); 2) Give him a lecture about not playing with makeup (nah, I don’t want to impose ridiculous gender norms... not today anyways); 3) Let him have artistic expression on my face 😳???

Well, you see the end result 🤷🏾‍♀️!

I followed up by asking him, “Does mommy look pretty?”, to which he gave a lonnggg awkward pause before handing me the eye brow pencil back and saying’ “Ummm, mommy, I gonna go watch tv now.”

The dang things we do for our kids STEAM education 😳🙄🙃😁!!! (Some moms are going all out, but I’m letting it flow 🤣🤣🤣! COVID-19 Meacher (Mom/Teacher) Award Goes To... 😆

My Piece/Peace of the 🌍!

When I tell you, peace and quite in my own little piece/peace of this world is all I desire 💯👌🏾💖… I am so grateful to be in a safe place; physically, emotionally, spiritually, financially and so on… Money can’t buy contentment or happiness! My kids are loved and well taken care of, I’ve learned my self-worth throughout this journey of life and no one can ever take my worthiness away, my business is coming along successfully, my skin is glowing, my daily routine is productive, my time is what I set it to be, I am intentional, I am whole and complete, I am a Virtuous Woman, I am loved by my Father, God Almighty and He is proud of His daughter… this brings me happiness and contentment. Just sitting on my bed, breathing as the sun shines in. Babbbbyyyy… these here sun rays always got my body synthesizing this Vitamin D and it legit puts me in a good mood👏🏾every👏🏾single👏🏾day ☀️💯. Just being able to have piece/peace and quiet… and watch the sunset from my balcony ...

THIS IS NOT EDUCATION!!!

#JustThinkingOutLoud with this one… This massacre is heart-wrenching, unthinkable, heart-stopping and all too-close to home… My daughter’s high school was on a full lockdown just yesterday for a gun on campus!!! Last summer I had to pull my son out of summer school (he’s special needs and it was his first time back after two years of COVID and he absolutely needed the extra schooling)… but I couldn’t send him back after a fifth grader brought the firearm… and my sons teacher/class had to take in the class of the student who brought the gun because the fifth grade teacher had to do police briefings and reports for the rest of the day. Last Friday my daughter told me of a shooting that took place after a highschool graduation at a school where she trains and runs track. Shooting at Highschool on May 19, 2022 .
