If it happened to me... it can happen to anyone!

I’ve always loved being creative and I’ve begun exploring the many  ways in which I can be a content creator and share my authentic voice! What’s the point of this post? It literally dawned on me today (after watching a phenomenal video by  @randirossario  on Instagram, “ I’m a black girl, I’m not allowed ”... click the pink title), that I need to explore this part of my life and all the many decisions that I’ve made as a result of what’s happened to me.  What I speak of is molesation! @randirossario  said rape happened to her… and she came from a good family! I too came from a good family… and that didn’t protect me from sexual deviants invading my space! Last night when I had the regular conversation/check-in with my 11-year-old daughter, going through the motions of, “You know you can tell me anything… has anyone touched you?”…  Well, from that, I really had to be transparent with myself! The more transparent I am with myself, t...

Christmas Gift To Self!

This is a quick ⌚ one that I took from my recent Facebook post, but I wanted to share what was a hilarious experience for me as I process my frugal ways in life😋! #InnerThoughts#OutwardExpression True story 💯! I saw this staple gun in Aldi's on Dec. 6th for $9.99, but was elated 🙌🏽 that it was on sale for $3.99 😱! I immediately thought to myself, "OMG! I've found the PERFECT Christmas 🎄 gift 🎁 for others"... then I had to realize a couple things: 1) Errrybody don't want a staple gun as much as you've desired one, JacQuaye and 2) Errrybody who ever wanted one probably didn't wait around for 15 years (LITERALLY) for it to go on sale for less than $5 before purchasing!  More than likely, they were willing to pay the $10+ tax 🤦😂!!! #ConfessionsOfACheapChick Ohhh how I've contemplated for hours the projects I'll tackle 🤔💃🤗💃😊💃!!!... With this newly found freedom... That I was only willing to pay $3.99 for 😂😂😂! (I just knew I was g...

No Makeup On

What do you think when you look at me? When you look at my Instagram page, for instance? "I wonder if I come across as conceited," were the words I thought to myself when I posted my most recent video on IG. It was a cute Snapchat filter (sn: Thank heavens for those filters 🙌 because they get you right and make you look oh-so-glamorous... Even with no make up on). But the filter I used was promoting beauty, lashes, mascara and all that. I actually hesitated to post it because I never want to be seen as if I'm all about my looks or just that into me, myself and I. But if I were to be honest with you... I just wanted something to give me a little boost of confidence for that moment, if you will. Well, in episode 3 of my podcast, The Single WifeLife, I share the need to accept you for you! With no makeup on; beyond the Snapchat filters... Just you! I leave you with a couple songs that give me a boost of "You Go Girl" confidence; one warms my heart with...

School's Back In Session! And I've Got A Deal For Ya!

It's that time of year again! School is back in session! What does this mean for parents? It means we have to scramble to get the coolest fashion trends for our kids so that they're not embarrassed or mocked at school! What's this mean for a mom on a budget without cares for this type of peer pressure and a 10 year old going to the 6th grade? Nothingggggg LOL  ! I'm typically not the person who pays for name brand clothes AT ALL! But in the spirit of my daughter now going to middle school, I was Googling away trying to find a solution to name brand clothing desires at inexpensive prices. And guess what? I did it (wit’ my ol’ cheap self)! (Ok… My conspiracy-theorist mindset coming into play here but…) I was doing some serious Googling for hoodies and joggers and all that stuff (because when I asked Jayda what she needed to be a cool middle-schooler, her response was a hoodie (just one  , name brand of course), a pair of tennis shoes/sneakers (name brand) an...

Knowing Your Value As A Woman!

Hey Loves, I've uploaded my second podcast so take a listen! In this episode I speak about the importance of knowing our value as women and you'll hear my in-the-moment self-reflection of when I allowed devaluation to creep into my life 😮! I'd never before asked this question of myself, but when I began to evaluate... whew, did I have an eye opener 🤦! If you haven't already, I encourage you to pause and take a moment to assess your value; as a SINGLE individual, WIFE and/or mother, or in LIFE in general! Do you know that you are valuable??? Do others around you know your value? How do you gage the answer to either of these questions? And if you're not as valued as you'd like to be, what do you need to shift to reach that point? My Why: I've got two Rugrats who are looking to me to give them value! And they need to see an image of mommy; a valuable mommy! They're stuck with me whether they want to be or not 🤣! Even when I drag them to the offi...

I Finally Started My Podcast!

OMG! I've just launched into the world of podcasting! What was I thinking?  This isn't that easy of a process as I initially thought it would be. You kind of have to be tech-savvy! I mean, there's narrowing down which equipment to buy (hundreds of websites give you advice on which is the "best" and it's proven to be overwhelming to sift through all the so-called expert opinions).  There's purchasing and learning the many databases needed like Libsyn (it provides p ublishing tools, media hosting and delivery, RSS for Apple Podcasts and iTunes, a website, stats and more),  Audacity (an  open-source digital audio editor and recording application software) and creating an Apple ID to submit to iTunes Podcast Connect (us Droid users don't typically need this) ... Deciding between a mixer vs software... Um, what is a RSS feed again? There's also the task of knowing what the heck I'm going to discuss each week!!! Talk about a learning cur...

My Frustration with Media's Coverage of Black People- #JusticeForNia #SayHerName

Dear Nia... When I first heard the story of how the gruesome murder of 18 year old, Nia Wilson, was covered, I was so disturbed by the reporting of this vicious act! 1)The victim was referred to as a black "WOMAN" and 2) The attacker was described as "ALLEGED" attacker. These two points raise pause in that it shapes a narrative that Nia Wilson wasn't indeed a kid. The reality is that, Yes She Was, even at 18! Although she was 18 years old, she HAD NOT experienced life yet! She WAS NOT a grown woman, simply a grown girl who could have had her  entire life ahead of her! She was a recent graduate from high school, she was indeed still a baby who had so much more growing to do in order to be a "woman". SHE WAS A TEEN!  Bad Reporting Covered by TYT:  Commentary on KTVU Secondly, the idea of calling the attacker the alleged attacker gives him the humanity of innocence until proven guilty! NEVER did he deserve that respect, but his white sk...
